I see that the last Guardian class has been delivered to its new users. From much earlier comment do they regard vessels returned to Australia for repair still "delivered"?

Boy, there's a bunfight you don't want to step into!
We have at the last count three dead Guardians that are sitting high & dry, bent, battered, rusting away & broken and not going anywhere. Several that have sat alongside for months and months and months when they're only supposed to be here a couple of months. Add to that the reduction in funds available, removal of the local defence office that used to handle them, and a whole bunch of re-organisation of defence locally (sound familiar?).
Some of the Guardians have been slipped into a major repair docking on their delivery voyage, some just after delivery, and you can bet the Oz taxpayer paid for the lot. Also, Austal has just been gifted the contract for another of the evolved Cape class. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

If I was much younger and not had the "grounding" in the vagaries of Defence specifications, designs, purchases and ongoing logistics, I would suggest that you must be so mistaken...

I had forgotten about this. Had to laugh at the presentation of this guy into the report on the DEI appointment of an unqualified Captain with an unqualified crew that led to the loss of HMNZS Manawanui off Samoa, fortunately without loss of life. A classic!! https://youtu.be/_7XQ5qFK_w4?si=tNfGSlsU1yAjEkIu

I agree Pony, it all came back to bite them. That clip is definitely worth watching.

Let us see:
18:27:34 Discussion about "do you want to take it out of auto now" but there is nothing suggesting that the answer was "yes please".....................
