So what's the worst that could happen when a retired USMC Jarhead and his lovely wife joined us on our Annual RAN Skilled Hands Sydney Rocks Christmas Pub Crawl Smokey..? Rest easy and wonder no more...
Brilliantly put together, Fred, I don't think you missed anything...! I'll have two extra Oyzo & Cokes for you and Anne this year...

When I received the Hitler DVD from Fred yesterday, after uploading it I sent him the following:
Hi Fred and Anne, hope this finds you still both fit and well…
I found your surprise in my letterbox this afternoon, it may have been there for a day or so, as I don’t check it every day, but I was delighted with the effort and the detail you put into it… Hitler just never loses his appeal, does he…?
I downloaded it to my PC, uploaded it to my YouTube Channel, then finally posted the YouTube link to RAN Skilled Hands and to Facebook.
All is well here with Anne and I, Rick. How about you? I am glad you liked my little surprise. It probably was delivered to you the day you found it as I only mailed it last week. I hope everyone else likes it as well. Anne and I will be thinking of you all on the day of the run. She still speaks about it and of the entire trip. The video is a small thank you for the great time you showed us in Sydney.
Tomorrow, Anne and I get a new experience. We will be entering the world of international diplomacy and formal dinners. There is a new Consul General of the UK in Boston and we have been invited to her first official social event, which is a formal dinner with the British Officers Club of New England. This is their way of saying thank you for my finding the grave of a British soldier from WWI in our local cemetery and arranging for a British flag to fly over his grave. Anne says we shouldn't worry about doing something wrong at the dinner as she has watched every episode of Downton Abbey and feels confident that she knows how to act in a formal situation. Should be an interesting time.

You blokes may have to find a new pub for your Basin Trails. I have heard from a mate that was in Sydney just recently (about a week or so ago) that Friscos has closed indefinitely. Apparently the new owners figures didn't work out with the renovations he wanted to do.
Thanks for the tip Connie... I just tried to ring The Frisco on the land-line posted on their website and it rang out...
I then noticed an email address for 'Adam' so I put together and sent the following:
"Hi Adam,
I’m part of a group of ex-Navy Apprentices who, for the past 14 years, have met at The Frisco for a friendly get-together on the first Friday afternoon in November each year, often staying and having a meal thereafter...
Somebody in our group passed on some third hand information that The Frisco is closed until further notice... Is this true...?"
Here's the response to my e-mail to The Frisco...
Hi Rick,
The Frisco has only ceased trading temporarily while we carry out some maintenance and renovation works.
We will be back open better than ever late October.
Look forward to welcoming you in November.
Cheers,
Adam Micola The Frisco Hotel 46 Dowling Street, Woolloomooloo P: 9357 1800 M: 0434 361 335 @friscohotel http://www.friscohotel.com.au
Might I suggest, subject to any further advice to the contrary, that anybody arriving at The Frisco on Friday 4th Nov., finding it still closed, should automatically default to Bells...?
Adam from the Frisco has sent me a few emails asking questions about our run in November. I think he suddenly realizes more about the "place" that the Frisco has in Navy men's memories.
