G'day all,
You are receiving this email because your details were on Kevin Assenheim's list. We've added a few from our own address books.
The three of us (Jeff, Squizy and myself) have spoken about this for a while but have now taken steps to make something happen! The crystal ball is still very cloudy but we currently envisage a steam reunion bash in 2028, subject to interest being shown, probably in April 2028, just after ANZAC Day. Also looking mid-week as everyone must just about be retired and costs are cheaper!
It'll be in the tried and true format of a 'meet & greet' one night followed by a dinner evening. It'll be on the southern end of the Gold Coast and at this stage I'd say the Twin Towns Clubs and Resorts facility (the old Twin Towns Services/RSL Club). There is a vast array of accommodation to cater for all tastes and wallets. We are still trying to sort out some of the details so we have no firm costings.
Emails are being sent BCC - my experience with other organisations is this is preferred for a bunch of reasons. I understand this makes it difficult to see if your mate is on the email list. Easiest thing to do is spread the word and ask them to contact me at this email address. - steam2028gc@gmail.com
If they aren't in our contact list then I can add them. We're looking at maybe a private Facebook page as that is far and away the easiest method of getting info out there. Gmail also lets me send a limit of 500 emails in 24 hrs so sending an "all ship all shore" emails takes three goes!
I'll keep you posted as things start to work themselves out.
