Crash Kennedy contacted me to say he had found something on FB , stating that Roger had crossed the bar. With a bit of searching, I found a death notice and service details via the Canberra Times and Tocan Dinn Funerals. As soon as I saw the photo, I remembered him from our Nirimba time, but I never came across him again in the fleet. My condolences to his family and friends. Another MOBI taken too soon. RIP Roger your watch is done

This morning I have been informed that Roger had been suffering dementia for quite some time. Apparently he was always a very nice bloke and a great rugby player. I have also received a few photos as well.

So sad, a top fella was Roger, didn't know him at Nirimba but we served together in the fleet, a very good rugby player and a great jokester. Fair winds and a following sea, old mate.

Roger joined RANATE a month after I graduated, and I don't recall encountering him out in the Fleet, but nonetheless, it's always sad to lose another MOBI, so rest on your oars, Roger, your journey's done... VALE - May you rest in peace...
