The 2020 (19th) Annual RAN Skilled Hands Sydney Rocks Xmas Pub Crawl Smokey... ..................................................................................(...including those of you as yet undecided, sitting on the fence...!)
After careful consideration, along with a degree of anguished deliberation, (not to mention the continued border restrictions imposed by certain State Governments, designed to keep Mexicans in Mexico,)The ‘A’ Team have arrived at the inescapable conclusion, that to proceed with our iconic annual event would put at unnecessary risk, those of our number considered to be in a high-risk cohort, who were planning to attend… It is therefore with heavy heart that we have decided that The 2020 (19th) Annual RAN Skilled Hands Sydney Rocks Xmas Pub Crawl Smokey must be deferred for this year, thus avoiding the very real possibility that any of our Senior Citizens could be compromised, which, in turn, would prevent them from attending The 2021 (20th er, 19th ) Annual RAN Skilled Hands Sydney Rocks Xmas Pub Crawl Smokey, to be held over the weekend of Friday 5th to Sunday 7th of November 2021… (This year's event is the first we've been forced to cancel since we launched in Nov. 2003...)
.........................The 2019 Team... Why not join us next year for
..........................
Meanwhile, if this unfortunate change of plans has meant that anybody has made prior arrangements which can’t readily be cancelled, of if you're simply a 'local' who'd like to catch up, I’m happy to travel down from the NSW Central Coast to join you for a laid-back, leisurely lunch, on Saturday 7th November, at a Rocks venue of your choice, just let me know… Any takers...?

Not unexpected but a decision based on the common good. I guess you could offer a timing of the run and it could be conducted from the safety of individual residences with reporting on this site throughout the day.....

Removes trip hazards, COVID19 and enables a more leisurely "sup" at pubs (walking time removed). The ability to maintain contact on the interweb retains part of the bond rekindled each year.

Dave Warren has responded on Facebook...
David Warren Hi Rick, if there is enough 'local' interest I'm up for a 'quiet' lunch / drink sometime over that weekend. After all we're not dead yet!
I'm happy to train it down to Sydney to join Dave(and any other takers,) at the Rocks and as it's just a laid-back leisurely lunchand a few convivials and considering the savings, (no accommodation, no multi-pub drinking, no final-pub swilling,) I'm thinking we might even opt for one of the more salubrious pub restaurants for the occasion, maybe upstairs at the Palisade, or the Harbour View, or the roof-top beer garden of the Glendale...!

You're not going to believe this, but this morning I got an e-mail from YouTube, (a.k.a., Google, BTW, I've deactivated the 'hyperlinks'...) which reads:
"Your YouTube Video has been Age Restricted...
Hi Hippy Chippy,
As you may know, our Community Guidelines describe which content we allow – and don’t allow – on YouTube. Your video 2016 Rocks Run was flagged to us for review. Upon review, we’ve determined that it may not be suitable for all viewers and it has been placed behind an age restriction.
How you can respond
If you believe this was a mistake, we’d like to hear from you. To appeal this age restriction, please submit this form. Our team will thoroughly review your appeal and will contact you again very soon.
For more information on YouTube's Community Guidelines, please visit our Help Center.
Sincerely,

...and the offensive YouTube video in question..? Yup... It was the... 'Hitler Meltdown', put together by GDY Phred...!!!
"We are a collective (usually around 20, or so,) of ex-Royal Australian Navy Artificer Apprentices (mostly in our late 60's - early 70's,) who (since 2003) have been getting together annually, on the first Saturday in November, in the Sydney Rocks Precinct for breakfast, then a tour of 'The Rocks' historic pubs, then lunch and a few drinks, to reminisce about the good times we shared during our careers in the RAN...
The humourous 'Hitler rant' video clip (one of no doubt thousands on YouTube,) was put together by an ex-US Marine, who flew to Australia, primarily to join our group for the day, as a light-hearted way of thanking us for inviting him to our annual event...
I cannot for the life of me find anything offensive in the cleverly put-together, funny clip, which listed many of the organisers and prominent participants of our fun run...
You must be getting close to the bottom of your 'offensive clips' barrel if it's taken 4 years to finally get to restrict our harmless video...
I respectfully request that you NOT place an age restriction on the clip, if for no other reason than to eliminate the hassle of members of our group having to sign up to become YouTube Members, then to sign in to view it..."
