Well

Mobes has risen to the challenge :notworthy:

and mapped out an itinery for our
Inaugural RAN Skilled Hands Xmas in July Balmain Pub Crawl Smokey... :partyman:

Mark has also put in a whole lot of groundwork (accompanied by Stew and Buck,)
and thought into arriving at the following...

Saturday 5th July 2008

0900 - Meet at the Cafe Berliner on Darling Street... get something into your
grog-infested guts...!:tonqe:

1000 - 1st beer at the Unity Hall Hotel. Follow the red arrows on the map...

From Mark's directions and the pubs indicated on his 'mud-map' that translates to...
1. Unity Hall, :occasion5:

then…
2. Dick’s :occasion5:

3. The Exchange
4. Cat and Fiddle
5. Riverview
6. The Town Hall :occasion5:

(if it’s open…) :dontknow:

7. Sir William Wallace :occasion5:

8. The Dry Dock (lunch..?)
9. The Monkey Bar
10. The London
11. Bowling Club
12. Commercial Hotel, :occasion5:

then catch a ferry to Circular Quay for one for the road at...
13. The Orient :partyman:

or Jackson’s on George... :drunken:

There is usually only about 200 – 300 metres between pubs – :walk:

the longest walk
is about four hundred metres...

We may have to push Pussa San’s wheelchair up Elliott Street from The Exchange
to the Cat & Fiddle but other than that the terrain is OK. :thumbright:

TRANSPORT :iroc:

442 Bus leaves Stand B – York Street side of Queen Victoria Building at 0811 and
then about every 15 minutes after...

The destination is EAST BALMAIN FERRY WHARF and alight at Loyalty Square
(opposite the Unity Hall Hotel)

The Cafe Berliner is just ahead on the left... $\:D/$

Mark also supplied me with a colour-coded 'mud-map' which I've taken the liberty of
modifying/ simplifying (just removed the pubs that were geographically impractical,) and
reducing in overall size of the territory for greater clarity... Hope you don't mind Mark...

with just 5 days to go, you'd think we were hosting optional early morning PT on the airstrip... :roll:

Things are crook in Tullarook, Ellen and I spent 2 hours on the net last night trying to find some accommodation for the weekend, without any success.

I guess it's a combination of the Pope's visit and the school holidays. We will keep looking but I fear that we won't be able to make the pub crawl. :tear:
