Its my sad duty to advise of the passing of Alan (Dutchy) Holland, Diesel Tiffy of the 14th MOBI Intake of January '63... I never got the opportunity to serve with Alan out in the Fleet, but remember 'Dutchy' well from our RANATE days, as he was the term immediately behind Chippy Ned and myself... His funeral will be “Live Streamed” on Wednesday 9th June at 1.30 pm Western Australian time. Funeral parlour is Amity Rose Albany for further details. Another MOBI taken way too young, rest on your oars, Dutchy, your journey's done... R.I.P.

From: Bob Mummery <bandi@iinet.net.au> Sent: Thursday, 3 June 2021 1:23 PM To: Bob Mummery <bandi@iinet.net.au> Subject: VALE - ALAN (DUTCHY) HOLLAND - MOBI ENTRY OF JANUARY 1963
Jim Veitch advised:
Sad news, Alan “Dutchy” Holland passed away suddenly this morning in Albany. He has been ill for some time but he suddenly collapsed at home.
Our thoughts and condolences are with his wife Lyn and their families. Funeral details will be forwarded when arrangements have been made.
Alan was a member of the 14th MOBI intake of January 1963. He was a member of the 1st Diesel “tiffs” and spent most of his service on patrol boats serving in Cairns and Manus Island.
RIP Alan
And later advised:
Dutchy’s funeral will be held at Amity Rose Funeral Home in Albany at 1330 (WA time) on Wednesday 9th June 2021.
The service will be streamed and can be logged into via the Amity Rose website which will provide the link.
So it is “Goodbye to another fellow MOBI” and condolences to Lyn and his family.
Bob Mummery

I knew Dutchy from Nirimba and served with him briefly on Moresby. Sad to see another "brother" taken so early. Condolences to his family. Vale "Dutchy" . RIP, fair winds and following seas.

I remember Dutchy well, he was the charge tiff on Barricade when I joined her in Dec '69, for a 'C' rate I seemed to spend a fair bit of time in the engine room with him and the other's, Barry Moore was the 2nd tiff. I learned a lot from both of them.
RIP, may you have fair winds and smooth seas
