In August 2005 our attention was drawn to the fact that the 42' Steel Yacht that was built by Naval Artificer Apprentices at HMAS Nirimba (RANATE), known to us simply as the ‘MOBI’, but nevertheless launched in 1967 as ‘Nirimba’, was being offered for sale by her then current (private) owner… The MOBI Yacht ‘Nirimba’ Association Inc. was immediately formed, to raise the necessary funds, determined to bring her back into the family… She is now moored at RANSA in Rushcutters Bay, Sydney as a working exhibit, a tribute to YOUR heritage, back in the hands of those who built her... We don't own her yet and can still use your help, but to read how we brought the MOBI Yacht ‘Nirimba’ home for you check out this Forum...
